A Link to the Past / Four Swords

A Link to The Past was re-released for The Gameboy Advance in 2002 for North America and 2003 for Japan and The UK. This game was developed jointly amongst Nintendo and Flagship, who had already previously developed The Oracle of Seasons and Ages. A Link to the Past for The Gameboy Advance comes with a remake of the classic adventure for The SNES along with a multiplayer game called Four Swords.

There are slight changes to the remake of A Link to the Past including vocal grunts and other sound effect borrowed from the era of The Ocarina of Time. Four Swords is a multi-player adventure that takes interaction with the single player adventure. Features included if a player learns a sword technique it will become available in both modes. Once Four Swords has been completed it unlocks an extra dungeon in A Link to the Past known as The Palace of the Four Sword. Dungeons are randomly generated depending on the amount of players competing so that some puzzles don't require 4 people to solve.

Overall it's a remake of one of the best Legend of Zelda games there is imagine the original from the NES but better graphics, loads more items, more dungeons, you just don't get much better than that. If you haven't got a SNES, mine broke years ago shortly after completing Megaman X2, then get this for the GBA. Four Swords is the first multiplayer to feature in a Legend of Zelda game and is really fun. Could have been more exciting with different characters perhaps but still hours of fun are to be had if you and your friends can connect.

Sounds: Some were disappointed with the sounds.

Graphics: Same as before with additions of new sounds, people complain because the music is not as good as the original.

Replayability: Haven't we played this before anyhow? Well I like it so I’d say one of the best Zelda games being remade is good and if you have friends that have the GBA's with the cable then you can have hours of fun, not me though I’m sat in the corner on my own.

I Award A Link to The Past / The Four Swords: 7/10
